OBJECTIVE: To teach the youth that even though we may not always be able to control the things that happen to us, we can control our attitudes.

LESSON IDEAS. Review enrichment activity 3* in the lesson manual for which the following activity illustrates (see below). See Lesson 15 – Joseph Was Sold into Egypt Old Testament

ACTIVITY: Mirror Motivators
Encourage youth to color and post these four motivators on their mirror at home to remind them to be happy, to have faith in God, and to make the best of every situation.

TO MAKE Print and cut out the Mirror Motivators for each child.

THOUGHT TREAT: Sour Lemons to Lemonade. Make a batch of lemonade to share. First slice and let the youth taste a lemon. Then place sugar on their slice of lemon. Tell them that as they add sugar to lemonade it makes it sweet, just as our faith in Jesus Christ sweetens our testimony.
Review enrichment activity 2 in Primary 6 Old Testament Manual “Joseph Was Sold into Egypt.” (see below*) Tell the youth that by having faith in Jesus Christ they can have the courage to make life sweet.

SCRIPTURE CARDS: Help youth Search and Ponder this scripture card by filling in the blanks. PRINT this 5 x 7 scripture card from the pdf included with the above activity. You can punch the two holes on the left and tie a ribbon to attach cards or use two metal rings to connect cards.
